It has been officially Autumn for a little over a week now. In Kansas City we welcome this new season with a beautiful change in the weather and trees covered in gold and red. Evan drank some coffee with a Pumpkin Spice creamer instead of his usual French Vanilla (although, it was an accident, but it was still so fall-ish!) and I celebrated this season with my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season.
What better way to ring in this season and the beauty that it holds by sharing some of our favorite Fall-ish things to do?
2. Playing in the Leaves. No matter how old (or young) you are, playing in crunchy leaves will always leave us breathless, energized, and typically with more leaves on ourselves than in the actual pile. I didn't even consider raking leaves a chore as a kid... it must be some kind of sick parent joke (that I will be using in the very near future). However, even as an adult, I don't think raking leaves is too shabby.
By the way, what did one Autumn leaf say to another?
"I'm falling for you."
5. Bonfires. Lots and lots of bonfires. Whether they are just with a fire pit on your driveway (that is seriously something a LOT of people in Kansas City do), or whether you're out in the boonies with a group of friends rocking the country music, bonfires and s'mores, fall really feels like fall when the amazing smell of burning wood encompasses you and you go home smelling like a mixture of hotdogs and smoke.
What did the little tree say to the big tree? "Leaf me alone!"
9. Christmas Lighting Ceremonies. Last, but certainly not least, is the lighting of the Plaza, or Main Street, or whatever you light up in your city. It wouldn't be fall if there wasn't a night full of people with anticipation in their hearts and a jump in their steps as they ready for an absolutely beautiful site.
We certainly hope you enjoy Fall as much as we do around here, and we hope that this Fall brings you many wonderful memories and happy times.
Happy Fall, Ya'll!
